1. What is SXSW V2V?
Scheduled August 11-14, 2013 in Las Vegas, SXSW V2V brings together innovative leaders from the startup and creative industries for four days of panels, pitch events, mentor sessions, networking and fun.

2. Where, exactly, does SXSW V2V occur?
Daytime programming for SXSW V2V will take place on the fourth floor of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada.

3. What is SXSW?
The South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals (March 8-17, 2013 in Austin, TX) offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW® is the premier destination for discovery. Joining SXSW V2V on the SXSW family of events are SXSWedu (March 4-7, 2013 in Austin, TX), a unique conference addressing education stakeholders and practitioners, and SXSW Eco (October 7-9, 2013 in Austin, TX), featuring sessions from experts in the public, private and academic sectors committed to finding solutions for a sustainable world.

4. How is SXSW V2V related to SXSW?
SXSW V2V is an extension and re-imagining of the legendary SXSW experience with an emphasis on the creative spark that drives entrepreneurial innovation.

5. What is the focus of SXSW V2V programming?
SXSW V2V programming will focus on giving innovators and entrepreneurs from across all the industries at the core of the SXSW family of events - technology, music, film, fashion, health, education, sustainability - learn the skills, make the connections and find the inspiration to take their ideas and talents to the next level.

6. Who should attend SXSW V2V?
SXSW V2V is for entrepreneurs, startups, venture capitalists, community builders, angel investors, mentors and advisers from across all the creative industries that SXSW in known for. If you are involved in building an app, building a service, building a business, building a brand or building a community, then this event is for you.

7. Where will SXSW V2V participants come from?
SXSW V2V participants will come from across America and around the world. We are planning to tap in to the global startup community.

8. How is SXSW V2V different than other startup events?
What sets SXSW V2V apart from other startup themed events is that it’s SXSW. Creativity is at the core of SXSW, and that will be the mantra for SXSW V2V as well. While many events can offer a place for startups to connect with funding, SXSW V2V takes that and places in the middle of the creative, inspirational, educational and fun space that SXSW is known for. The startup space is big enough for us all to work together to build a community committed to a new economic paradigm.

10. Why was Las Vegas chosen for this event?
When looking at possibilities of expanding the startup programming for SXSW, we became intrigued with the idea of helping to foster the growth that Austin has experienced with its startup and tech communities to other parts of the country that are building their own strong tech and startup communities. Las Vegas came up first on our list of possible locations for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the strength and excitement of its emerging tech and startup culture. The tenacity of spirit and vision inherent in the Las Vegas ideal has attracted the attention of the startup community around the world. It speaks to what SXSW is all about, and we think that we can add to that conversation.

11. How big do you expect SXSW V2V in first year?
In its inaugural year, we expect the SXSW V2V experience to be smaller and more intimate than that of SXSW in March.

12. SXSW started as a Music-only event. SXSW is also famous for its Film Festival. Will Music and Film have a presence at V2V?
The startup and entrepreneur culture is a growing aspect of all the SXSW family of events. Adding to the popular startup programs at SXSW Interactive's Accelerator and Startup Village, SXSW Music's Startup Village and Accelerator, SXSWedu's LAUNCHedu and SXSW Eco's Startup Showcase have also garnered a lot of excitement from the startup community. For 2013 SXSW Film will add it's own startup program, Startup Alley. The startup communities of all the creative industry at the heart of SXSW will be represented at SXSW V2V.

13. SXSW Interactive is famous for its many evening events. Will there be evening programming at V2V?
Yes, we will have a small schedule of evening events that help facilitate the process of networking and connection-making. Stay tuned to sxswv2v.com/network for more information.

14. Will there be a trade show component?
No, not in first year, but there will be lots of other exciting marketing opportunities.

15. What does "V2V" stand for?
This new version of the classic event seeks to bring visionaries active in the entrepreneurial arena to Las Vegas, Nevada for a truly unique SXSW experience. Visionaries to Vegas, Vision to Venture, Voice to Voice, Venture to Vegas - all the variations of the V2V moniker carry the same theme, the movement from idea to reality.
