Photo and Video Policy

General Attendees

The general public is permitted to use hand-held cameras and/or smart phones to take photographs and capture digital images at SXSW V2V and within SXSW V2V event venues for personal, non-commercial use, provided the photography is not disruptive. Registrants may take photos from their seats, as long as they are not standing in the press area, obstructing views, or using a flash after the session begins. Photographs may not be published, sold, reproduced, transmitted, distributed or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever.

Video recordings are not permitted for the general public at any time.

By attending SXSW V2V events, you consent to having your image captured by official SXSW V2V photographers and videographers. The resulting materials, including still photographs, video and audio recordings may be used by SXSW V2V, without restriction, in news materials, promotional materials, on the SXSW V2V website, and other properties.


Photography and Videography at SXSW V2V events for media and blogger use is not permitted without press credentials provided by the SXSW V2V Publicity Department.

Press credentials are issued at the discretion of SXSW V2V and can be withdrawn at any time if misused.

Photo Policy

During the SXSW V2V Keynotes, Panels and other sessions, photographers will be allowed to take photographs in the first five minutes, and then all cameras must be put away, or the photographer will be asked to leave the room.

Video Policy

If you are granted press credentials by the SXSW V2V Publicity Department, the following will be permitted with your credentials: news coverage of event activities, interviews, snippets of keynotes, panels and other sessions.

However, to protect the rights of speakers, as well as SXSW V2V, please note the following carefully: Your press credentials and camera tag will NOT allow you to live webcast audio or video, broadcast or otherwise transmit, retransmit or copy in any form any conference programming for longer than :45 seconds.

By accepting SXSW V2V press credentials you are agreeing that your coverage will be limited to shooting no more than the first five minutes of any single session. You also agree to broadcast no more than 45 continuous seconds of any single session in your final product. No audio feeds will be allowed without prior consent from SXSW V2V.
